Overall, I believe the exposure on Audiogon can help establish a brand name and reach new markets. Someone who might not be able to afford a new model, can get a used one and perhaps step up in that line later via retail. It also promotes sales in general if there is a market for used equipment.However, I have seen fairly frequent posts on the Asylum about a piece of equipment asking 'I have see so many of the WonderAmp on audiogon lately, are there problems with it? Why don't people like it? Why is everyone dumping it?' So, too many ads can be a problem. The thoughtful buyer might consider marketshare when they see a lot of ads for a product (more marketshare, more used equipment), but many draw the wrong conclusion.
