It's OK if oxes are gored, as long as it's not your ox. The forces of irrationality, superstition, and ignorance are winning in this world, and you are going to pay for it, big time. Just look at our President (US), who believes intelligent design should be taught along side evolution. This man has more power than anyone else in the history of the world, and he doesn't even understand how science works. Consider Kansas. The next think you know, the Law of Gravity will be repealed. That will make it a lot cheaper to get to Mars. Common, people. We need a lot more people like Randi. Maybe you don't like his style. Maybe you don't like him. Maybe his approach makes him ineffective to the geberal public. Apparently many of you don't realize that an excellent magician is extremely well-qualified to spot many kinds of fakery in others. I've never seen any test he has done of a claim that wasn't done in a thoroughly professional, scientific way. That way requires setting up the test in a proscribed way, with all agreeing that it is a valid test. That is where the fakes and charlatans usually drop out. Some things are very hard to test in this manner. But at least some degree of rationality should be involved. For example, the explanation for how the Intelligent Chip works provided by its makers is one of the most ridiculous claims- it is complete nonsense- I have ever seen about a technical device, but that didn't seem to bother people who believe in it.jsm
