So, our house was almost hit by lightning last night.....

....and even though it's pouring down rain with thunder and flashes abounding.....and my nine year old is scared and my wife is afraid of basement flooding (catch valve and pump there)......my first thought is, "Is my system going to be ok"....;-)

Then it dawned on me. I have dedicated AC lines, after market power cords, audiophile outlets, but NO "surge protection." if the house did get hit, or there was a power anomaly of some sort and I had no time to act, how does one protect the beloved home rig from nature's electrical forces?

what is an audiophile to do here? how can i protect against this while preserving the sanctity of the tweaks?
