I've had toroidal transformers buzz loudly whenever a neighbor uses a hairdryer. It's caused by DC on the AC line. The hairdryer contains a diode and doesn't draw current evenly from the positive and negative halves of the AC wave. Plugging the amp into a DC blocking capacitor can cure the buzzing, but you don't really need to fix this since the problem occurs infrequently.
