It would be great if independent stations emerge that use the new technology with high quality broadcasts. Realistically, the big conglomerates will continue to control the vast majority of stations, and it will be the same old, same old, just on digital instead of analog. Expect HD broadcasters even to use compression, which is a core marketing tool to get the attention of listeners as they skip between stations.
