I have a few perc.ed on top of the c.uc. (ear level) for first reflec.ions. They c.n be used for absorbtion wherever you want.
Sohji (sp?) sc.eens, maybe? Additional absorbtion/diffusion.
Lastly, I'm sure Home Depot has the equivalent of my R.P.G. foam tiles for one-tenth the c.st (hey, I got mine c.eap...). A few up on the c.iling wouldn't hurt either - again, at the reflec.ion points.
I also have a bit of the ec.o, but as you say doesn't seem to smear things too muc..
