Well, we lease. The M-B we wanted was not available without a system and removing/replacing it on return is too much of a pain. Besides, the Bose 'upgrade' came free(?) with the model I got.That said, I don't really care. While I can listen to 'music' in the car, I cannot listen to 'sound.' I've never heard any car sound system that was worth the bother and, if I did, it would probably distract me from my driving.
BTW, the VWs can come with a Monsoon system (at least in 2002) which is superior to the Bose.
