new amp/speaks powered up

did couple upgrades all at once today. mucho improvemento. went from tyler acoustics taylo reference monitors running off my integra a/v receiver. that setup was pretty dang good but the upgrade added a Classe CA-101, using the pre-outs from the integra, and upgrade the taylos to the linbrook monitors. dang. sure sounds nice. more music on all my cd's, and other std cliches.. now to fine tune, buy some better interconnects in a longer run than i had laying around today, etc.

one issue going on... there is an audible humm from the speakers when there is no source playing. it drops off maybe to a fourth as loud or so when i turn the vol to 'min' but is a constant humm up thru the vol range; that is, it doesn't get louder with more volume knob. (still no source playing)

what is the usual suspect in this? crappy interconnects (like bottom of the barrel because it is all i have today in the wire stash)? amp too close to reciever (like a couple inches from top of receiver to bottom of the amp) amp problem? (the receiver alone didn't do that before, at least not that audibly).. it is not a REAL loud hum. don't notice it from a distance away of maybe 8-10' and not with music playing, even quiet passages really, unless you're too close to speaker.

thx for any pointers...
