sid..as one who has seen and treated many punctured eardrums (tms) over the last 15 yrs i agree with all of the statements.infection is a distinct possibility but fortunately there are topical antibiotic ear drops that can be used even in the event that the tm is perforated....your description of the incident and symptoms suggest that you may have perforated it.a foreign body (piece of wood) is not out of the question either.docophobia not withstanding you need to proceed to your nearest er. good luck
