Is This Ethical?

I recently auctioned 3 quads of used Svetlana tubes on eBay (2 quads of KT88s, and one quad of 6550s). Before I had received the check from the buyer, or had shipped the tubes, he listed 2 of the quads for sale on Audiogon. He "represented" himself as the original owner--stating the number of hours on the tubes--When in fact, I did not know how used they were, and had stated so in my auction. He even used the pictures from my eBay ad!

On the day that I shipped the tubes to him, I noticed that he marked on quad as "sold". Now it gets worse--After he received the tubes, he sends me a note stating that one of the 6550s blew, and was no good (one of the ones he sold). He wanted my suggestions on how to resolve the situation. Even though I think what he is doing is highly unethical, I tried to come up with a fair solution. I sold all 12 of these tubes for $110, and I just rounded up to $10 per tube. I offered to refund $10 for the bad tube, and even offered to give him an additional $10 for the oddball 6550, if he wanted to send it back to me. He sent me a note back, wanting a refund for all 4 of the 6550s, because his amp only uses quads--Keep in mind, this is the quad that he had already sold.

I would welcome any and all opinions of this. It sure seems like he is playing me for a fool--Or am I making a big deal out of nothing?

Thanks in advance!
