Interesting article on Hypersonic Sound (HSS) technology. By all reports, it does not yet have enough fidelity for home hi-fi, but that will surely come with time. It is ready for lo-fi applications such as announcements, and in that respect alone it may become an invention that changes the world. The scary part for me is that the article also describes how it can be applied as a weapon technology (the military is already working on it). HSS does not seem to require any special manufacturing technique to implement, so people with bad intent will surely find ways to utilize it.
