The premise that audiophiles hate science is wrong, or at least greatly overstated. Many of us are scientists and engineers, or are science-oriented. The problem is that the "objective, repeatable, rational answers" that jive with collective, yet subjective, listening experiences of audio subtleties are in short supply. No one is going to make fun of you because you like to examine the break-up modes of speaker drivers, or the damping characteristics of a certain cabinet. At least I promise that I won't. But our empasis, here, tends to be on the perception of sound. The proof is in the pudding.Do remember that perception is individual, and music is a perceived medium, so there will be some person to person variation, as well as differences in taste. Why don't you do some good research into the science of human perception of sound and report back to us.
