This is the age of irrationality.(Check New Age bookstore and the brisk business they seem to do.) We have needs that only magical thinking can fulfill, while the scientific method anchors them to an increasingly frustrating reality they can neither adapt to nor endure. Science is like someone telling a child there's no Santa Claus.Scientific principles can be applied so as to improve (dramatically, at times) the sound of a system, and the results can be verified with simple measurements. But it takes effort and a lot of patience. Stepping into a high-end toy store and buying megabuck ICS, power cords, amp stands, power conditioners, etc. is a heck of a lot easier and exciting.
