I think you are mistaken on this one. The idea of repeatability is not to be taken so far as you are trying to take it. In fact the more experiments that use a greater variety of subjects and yeilds the same results only increases the supporting empirical evidence. The issue in controls which are required for a test to be considered scientific and to be accepted as empirical evidence is that the variable being testsed be the only variable. It is irrelevant whether or not the other elements change from one experiment to another (such as speakers used, test subjects, room size and materials etc.) What matters is that they do not become variables within each given experiment.
