Re: Too Generalized...

The last time I checked, ABX testing requires controlled levels of "A" and "B", with near-identical tracks. (The listener cannot see what "A" or "B" are.) Basically rules out long term listening- in *my* context.

Well any test would need to be level matched between the components being compared. If levels weren't matched, then one could easily identify which is which based solely on level differences. As for near-identical tracks, there's no such requirement whatsoever and the listener knows which component is A and which is B. Only the identity of X (which will randomly be A or B for each trial) is kept from the listener.

Bottom line, ABX does not require the omission of long-term listening.

So for the third time, can you name a single test which requires the omission of long-term listening? Your claim was that MOST of them do. ABX doesn't so which others were you referring to when you said "most"? Were you just repeating something you'd heard/read elsewhere or were you making it up?
