Re: Scientific Method Versus High End- Long (Rant?)

Everything that preceeds the loudspeaker, from input cables to output cables and everything in between,if constructed differently, will behave differently and have an impact on the sound. If your mind is open to this concept you just might have a chance.Lame loudspeakers, lame setups,as well as lame setup people(listeners/audiophiles/lame audio gurus),will reduce these differences between components/parts/ cables greatly.

Most music lovers aren`t trained listeners. Most audiophiles aren`t either. As an art student one is trained to see(observe)as well as trained to draw/paint etc.Audiophiles listening to mediocre hifis` is not what constitutes training.Truly trained listeners are not easily fooled when observing familiar systems. You`re not fooled by a mechanic that tells you that the slight whining sound that you hear in your transmission was always there and is normal.I reckon that the majority of DBTs are not conducted where the system is familiar to the subjects, truly high rez, harmonically correct, and that the listening panel are all trained gifted listeners. These scientific DBTs are a waste of time(other than for the love of argueing)as a reference for anyone that`s interested in enhancing thier musical experience via machines(hifis)

If a component is different,it will sound different in a audio rig that is executed properly. That`s all that anyone that`s truly interested in this hobby should worry about.Good Luck scrooie looie
