There are measurable audio charateristics that have disputed audability. There are charteristics that some people may hear but which have yet to be measured.I decided sometime ago that the only things worth worrying myself about those that are both measurable and audible. Like frequncy response(room and speaker especially), Tuner multipath, "the tube sound", amplifier clipping, etc. These all have a potential aesthetic impact.
Things which can be "heard" but no measured on those that can be measured but not heard, I leave to others while I just go ahead and enjoy the music. I have like to call obsesion with these subtle minutea "audio-hypochondria".
