Thanks for your comments Bold Eagle. I did not, however,"add an IEC socket"--the SCD-1 uses a removeable powercord and therefore it has an IEC socket. I did not "add a second set of contacts in the circuit". If you read my post further down, it explains exactly what I did. I switched the hot and neutral at one end of an after market power cord.
With all the comments and concerns that this post caused I have now returned the power cord to stock.It is a shame,however, that articles by Enid Lumley and others posted in well respected magazines and publications were ever allowed. I certainly can not take credit for the topic and eventual debate on AC Polarity.
