I still have nightmares over the PS Audio P-300. First of all, it doesn't sound all that good. It was noisey and ran HOT HOT HOT. The major problem, however, is that it rattled the transformer in my SCD-1 and now it is permanently noisey. Then it took out my pre-amp ( Krell KRC ).
I now own a Shunyata Hydra. Before you start to take shots at something you don't understand ---listen to one in your system. I would not be without one. You don't have to pay $2500---you can find them for $1600 used or discounted. NOW IS IT WORTH IT----Absolutely!
It does everything that the PS was supposed to do but with non of the problems.Superb dynamic contrast--soundstage ( depth/width ) --layering--dynamic slam/impact---the best low bass that I've ever heard. I have about $30,000 invested in my system and that doesn't include the cost of a properly designed dedicated listening room---the HYDRA made everything reach its full potential.
