The SEAS Excell tweeter in the Harbeth Monitor 40's and Monitor 30's (haven't heard the latter yet) is by far the most beautiful AND revealing I've heard, making the former the speaker I've heard with the smoothest, sweetest, most beautiful highs. It sounded this way before I put in Valhalla speaker cable, by the way! I had Straightwire Virtuoso, which is fine wire but no Valhalla. Actually, from what I've heard from others, while wire always matters, with the Excell, it seems to matter less. It sounds better with Quattro Fil and Valhalla but damn fine on more reasonably priced stuff as well.Associated equipment:
Naim CDX/XPS-Blue Circle AG 3000-Blue Circle AG 8000's. Interconnects were SPM. IC's currently in system for audition are Quattro Fil and Valhalla. Power cords are Electraglide. Blue Circle cones. Dedicated lines. Optrix on cd's.
