First issue of Attainable Audio

well, just received the first issue of attainable audio magazine.seems like many months ago i visted their web site and signed up for a free copy. its been so long, i had forgotten about it. anyway, i came home from work early today and there it was. 52 pages of stale audio dribble with a $7 cover price. i hope this guy has a day job. i don't want to be too hard on this guy because we could always use a new magazine about our hobby. while other individuals are credited in the staff, it reads like the work of one person. [brad alexander] i just read the whole issue in about 45 min. the problem that i see is mr. alexander seems to be a rather bland writer. [yeah, i know, so am i, but i DO have a day job]this mag has the most complicated rating system i've yet seen.they employ a "scoring grid" that comprises 16 area's where a componet is rated 1-5. seems to be a jumbled expansion of what fi used to do. they also set price limits on any given componet type. [ex.speakers= $3000 / cd/dvd players= $2000 and so on] picture the sensible sound with amature writing. again, i'm really don't want to be hard on this guy, but this looks, at best, like a work in progress. he reviews the tyler acoustics addison 18 speaker. [he really likes it] this speaker looks interesting, so i went to the website listed in the review for more information. the website listed in the mag does not exist. using a search engine, i did find the tyler acoustics website. it doesn't have an addison 18 listed. has this model been discontinued? does it exist? who knows. there's also a review of the mofi sound labs copy of the who's who's next. at least they mention the fact that mofi went under over a year ago. well, i've gone on long enough, i must say this issue is rather disapointing. i hope it gets better as time goes on. listener can sleep easy, this one's no threat. would like to hear what others think of this new magazine. mer
