I have a 35" set at the wall, with the speakers generally 10-15' out. I still get improved imaging by covering the set with a heavy wool blanket.YMMV, as other reflections may mask such.

The set uncovered... (I have some 6" deep Pyramid foam wedges to build a more aesthetically pleasing solution, just awaiting some free time.)
