Tom, I was at Lima and heard the HE10.1 with the Billies and Ella amps. The HE10 was fantastic considering the room (and "noise" from next door). Also, I think Kevin is a great guy!!The HE10.1 is on top of my list for sonics, but being DIY, I'm not sure I can pull it off and make it look decent. I'm currently persuing a used pair, so I may end up with them yet!
The Cicada and HornShoppe are on my list based on price ($700 new-finished) and the Parker Audio is there because Dave Dutill (who was also at Lima) lives a couple of miles from me.
I guess it comes down to this:
In a small room with a small amp (zen select,Paramour,Billie) and the HE10, can I get magic? If not, I'm reasonably happy with what I have.
As you can see, all of the equipment I listed is "bargain" priced. I'm not interested in this experiment if it cost over $1500 (amp and speakers).Enjoy,
