I went back to listening last night. It's that "I have a whole new music collection thing"
Well, one of the benefits of removing grunge is that I can play the music louder. Suddenly, the left channel started cutting out.
Turns out the Parasound A23 amp driving the ribbons has a thermal protection circuit and it shut down due to overheating. No doubt due to over cranking. I blew a fuse.
This was the excuse I needed, as a part of my reasoning for getting the SPs was to see whether the modules driving the ribbons on the W4S amp would sound smoother. They most certainly do, but I think the A 23 is the better sounding amp overall.
