I am surprised that the C-J ART is inverting, since the instruction book for my older C-J MV-50 brags that the component does NOT invert phase and instructs owners to be sure their system as a whole is in phase. Why are you surprised? One's an amp and the other's a preamp. Excuse me too -- but cj never bragged that their stuff wasn't phase inverting. There's nothing wrong with a component inverting absolute phase -- as many top preamps such as the AI stuff -- have always inverted.
Also, I think cj pres have been phase inverting since the Prem 9 or at least the EV20. It's nothing new and all it means is that cj eliminated one gain stage -- which as we know -- simpler should be better. Someday give a listen to a POOGED Dyna PAS 3 which has had a few gain stages eliminated. It's surprisingly good.
