Yes for me, the old is a whole lot better, but the XLO/RR is also a lot better than none - the demagnetizing track in it alone is well worth the price. The best deal of course if you have both of em, since it is fun to hear the different results of each disc. Who knows? You might even prefer the XLO/RR. :-) You can probably find the old one in record shops that are not frequented by audiophiles. The new Sheffield MDMS disc has an even better demagnetizing track (even better than the Sheffield/XLO) except that the disc does not have burn-in tracks anymore.
