Growing up, my parents had a Curtis Mathes tube console. Kinda bloated and rolled off up top but not bad sounding at all, really.
Later I had a junior high band director who put an emphasis not only on technical prowess but also tone quality and musicality. I learned what instruments were supposed to sound like.
Back for a bit again. Ignore me if you like.
