The music we all listen to has some sort of amplification, microphones... All of it. Ever. I don't care for classical music. Some, I can listen to, but to get all excited about attending an event, hell no. Same for what you say about jazz. Realistically, you more than likely have never been exposed to, or have any appreciation for the Great American Songbook. I like Bing, Ella, Billie, Frank, Miles. All of them. The new stuff, not so much. Unlike the geeks here trying to look sophisticated with their thumbs down I do like Dianna Krall. Sorry, but classical will be dead in 10 years. Jazz, maybe 20. But I'll be gone by then, so what.
I brought up the club I did because it sounds excellent. The amplification, dare they, are the dreaded JBLs, are used for vocals and sound reinforcement. They do their job perfectly. I brought that name up specifically since audio snobs here stick their noses up at JBLs. And you all know who you are.
So what local band do you hear that is unamplified? There are none, so give it up.
