the worst of all evils when evaluating a hifi system ..... is ?

So anyone who has been in the hobby for years knows - unless you actually hear a component in the contest of your own system - you cant be sure if you will like the purchase !

And if you dont have a return option you might be kicking yourself in the arse.

But the one thing that can REALLY ruin a system is any component that makes the treble brittle , strident or harsh

you can live with a little less bass ..... less that perfect soundstage or imagining ..... but anything that sounds like nails on a chalk board or cat fight will drive you nuts.

so for me the treble is #1 when evaluating a system or component

maybe you dont agree ..... lets hear about your "worst of all evils "
