Nevertheless

OK, so you dodged a bullet, but almost everyone else in the world didn't.

Even classical music CDs cannot avoid the sources of distortions and noise I pointed out in my previous post, the ones you conveniently ignored. Besides, for overly compressed CDs does it really matter why or how they wind up with weak dynamic range? Mastering is a very critical stage in making CDs.

If you were able to have the RCA Living Stereo CD and the original RCA Living Stereo LP and had a very good turntable and CD player to be able to compare them what you would find out that the CD version is missing important information compared to the LP. Does that surprise you? Or compare Heifetz on CD to Heifetz on LP. On CD his tone is all wrong and the subtly of the sound of the violin is missing in action. Heck, even the cassette version is much more believable than the CD. I have several RCA Living Stereo on cassette. They're fabulous.
