So gee, no you didn't answer that until your second post claiming that your stats are not 8 feet out after all.In any case, Rule of Thirds is just a "rule of thumb" starting point like the others. HP liked it. George Cardas doesn't agree. And in an idealized room, minimum node excitation is achieved at the 25% and 75% positions according to Sound Reproduction by Floyd Toole.
None of these "rule of thumbs" know my listening space and its contents so it's all about experimentation which we are both in agreement.
