My favorite Welkism...

...And it very well may be an urban legend, was when he supposedly read his cue cards and said something like, "Dat was the fabulous Lennon sisters. And now a couple of wonnerful tunes from World War I" (Which he read as "eye").

I don't have any of the Sheffield LPs, but I sure would have bought one for $5. I did find a clean Casino Royale LP at a flea market for $1 I'd have to go through my LP collection to get an accurate idea of what I have as far as audiophile approved goes, but off the top of my head, the previously mentioned Cat Stevens albums, a Classical "Percussion Music" LP, and one I'm actually not sorry I bought, Dwight Yoakam's Buenas Noches From A Lonely Room.

By the time CDs rolled around you'd think I'd have learned my lesson, but no. I'm looking at the "World's First Direct-To-CD Recording...Dick Hyman Plays Fats Waller" even as I type. That CD hasn't seen the light of day in probably thirty years.
