Home General Asylum

General audio topics that don't fit into specific categories.

The problem with that is that you cannot know how it is supposed to sound.

So you cannot assess whether the equipment and room and seating ... does its job correctly.

With simply recorded acoustic music you are a lot closer to that ideal.

I used to have a part-time business setting up systems in homes, and I always used simple-stereo acoustic recordings to assess, and to demonstrate before and after.

Where the client's budget allowed we did room treatments, mostly diffusion, as this can have a higher SAF, given the results.

I never had a complaint, and I did get referrals. I still do.
