General audio topics that don't fit into specific categories.

Back in '78, while working in a stereo shop ...

...outside of Boston (Waltham Camera & Stereo) Thelma Houston's "I've Got The Music in Me" and Dave Grusin's "Discovered Again" were in heavy rotation.

I sold a lot of ADS, Allison, Yamaha, JBL and Genisis Physics speakers (and systems) with those two records. Unlike some "demo" records used over the years (like DSOTM), I still enjoy listening to both of them.

In particular, the Houston and Grusin LP's could really light up the ADS L710, L810 and L1230, The Allison One, Two and Three as well as the Yamaha NS1000 and JBL L166.

Every salesman has their own favorite demo records. Back then, in addition to Houston and Grusin, I relied heavily on Joan Armatrading's self-titled LP, Weather Report's "Heavy Weather and Little Feat's "Waiting For Columbus".

Very fond memories.

Thanks for bringing it up.

Dean.
