I still own most of that Rock music but it's now on audiophile remastered LPs or high resolution digital.
I agree life is too short and when I was in my early 20's I discovered "Direct to Disc" LPs and I didn't like the music on about 50% of them so I traded them in.
Since the internet there is a solution to never getting music one doesn't like, it's called "streaming audio" of course many sites only give one 30 seconds of a song, but some give a minute or longer. Anyway if the recording is on an audiophile label, I can listen to the streaming audio to see if I actually would like the music. And with streaming audio the ONLY thing I can judge is the music itself since the sound quality is equal to MP3 or worse. Thus with the internet it is damn hard to get stuck with a recording one hates. However one can still grow tired of a recording over time but that is another discussion.
