Back in the '50s, I visited the audio shops on Cortlandt Street (now the site of the WTC) almost every Saturday. One day, in the upstairs demo room at Arrow Audio, there was a setup with a pair of Bozak Concert Grands (horizontal version of the speakers in the linked review)at one end of the room and a Revox stereo deck at the other. All the other electronics were McIntosh and the recording was a Beethoven 7th (performers unknown). What a knock-out! I had never heard reproduced music on the spatial dynamic scale of this. They were gracious enough to let this impecunius teen-ager listen to the whole symphony. That was it for me.
