I have never needed to pick my jaw up off the floor.
Maybe I am not prone to melodramatics over stereo equipment.
Most I can say I though something sounded particularly nice.Sort of like when i had spend a fortune on new stuff, including a new $2,200 DAC, which did not sound any better than my used for $250 DAC.
I was worried my whole investment was nothing more than a foolish lateral move.
Then the Phono box i had to order came in. (Bryston BP 1.5)
It sounded really wonderful and I cried. From happiness.. that my new stuff (amp pre, speakers) really IS better. Just the new DAC was a POS. (I returned it)
So that sort of quiet happiness way more my take on things.Another time i was auditioning some Infinity RSIIa speakers in Chicago. I was listening to Orff Carmina Burana and could hear each distinct voice in the choir. Amazing and led me to buy the speakers (Locally, later) A local dealer would order them with a 25% off discount.. so how could I say no. Then naturally other salesmen were like Hey I could have gotten them for you for 50% off.. yeah right.
