I just drove 700 miles round trip to have the firmware in a Pioneer receiver updated and then visited a dealer to audition Maggie's. However, I have family that I visited at the same time, so I can't say I did the trip just for audio reasons. But I would if available time and anticipation were both high.
After careful consideration, the several models of Maggie's I listened too didn't do it for me.
