These recordings are generally good but are overrated in comparison to good contemporary recordings. The Living Stereo also tend to be pretty inconsitent in the sampling I've heard.
Telarc recordings are typically very good, (i.e. some exceptions), and are not overrated. Reference Recordings are almost all excellent in sound quality at least, and deserve their great reputation.
Under appreciated are Charles Dutoit / Montreal Symphony recordings, mainly on the London or Decca label.
