He's very good; yet also firmly rooted in the modern (19th century) tradition of performing earlier music as if it were written much later. This is not a "good/bad" judgment. Just for the fun of it, imagine Brahms performed on Baroque instruments, in a manner more accustomed to their time. Then again, in spite of all I've said here, I like Glenn Gould too. :)
I'm going to nip this one in the bud right now... I'm not going to make any further comments on particular performers. There is a world of music to enjoy, and many wonderful musicians able and willing to bring their unique gifts to the table. That one person prefers a certain approach, and another's experience of life and music is different is part of what makes life interesting, fulfilling, and worthwhile for so many; musician and non-musician alike. Open your ears, open your heart, and clear your mind. When you're ready for it, it will find you where you need to be.
