Of course that is true. What IS unsubstantiated is any relationship of any of those factors to audible absolute phase. You are just speculating.
In my case, my speakers have no crossovers at all. They have outstandingly linear phase response typical of full range, single driver ESL's. I hate crossovers because I can hear them.
