RF breakthrough is obvious, but at lower levels the effects are more subtle: the sound-stage, the distortion and exaggeration of sibilants and cymbals, the dry midrange, the wooly bass.RF noise can be picked up by power wiring, power cords, and audio cables, as well as from direct broadcast. RF resonance effects are troublesome in low-loss cables.
The trouble becomes more pronounced as other forms of resolution loss within the system are removed, such as mechanical vibration. Systems or equipment subject to mechanical vibration may seem to be immune to RF noise.
