The glass vibrates and affects your audio system's performance. Unless you use a very heavy curtain, you will only affect the treble reflections and not the glass panel resonances.To determine how much this affects your sound, you can apply cheap decorative icons and listen for the difference. They are not permanently mounted and are easy to move around. I put them near corners and at nodal points along the major axes. Tapping on the pane and listening to the response is the quick way to determine where they do the most good.
One brand of these icons is Gelgems (see link), but I've also found cheaper ones in discount stores near holidays.
