Last time I checked..i had about 75K in cable in the production side alone. The producer/mixers desk runs around 170K. Then you have 2 other rooms jam packed with mixing and mastering equipment to add to that.Bedroom studios with Moms Dell computer and professional production facilities are two completely different situations.
On the other hand..
One can get a decent production from Protools and computer workstations but you will find that this is a minimal cost
compared to the outboard equipment, the room and the upkeep of the facility (and salaries)
