My speakers are long-wall configured - 7' apart on 21' wall. I have heard images all the way across the 21'. I have even, on rare occasions - heard sounds directly to my left or right.I read recently that you can sometimes "look" the image back to your speakers and, yes, I have experienced that. However - I can often look right at the image and have it well beyond the speakers. Ry Cooder's Paradise and Lunch comes to mind.
