Now, of course, when we have delta-sigma convertors, the SNR drops with frequency in most designs, as well. Of course, that's just an increased noise floor, which is probably inaudible.

Now, I don't necessarily agree that HF problems are always the biggest problems in CD's. I would like to point to a variety of utterly disgusting production processes, for instance. If the data on the CD sucks, there's not much you can do about it.

Of course, if we use a player that rolls off early on such a disc, it might just (will) sound better, too.

The complexity of any real piece of music is only relevant to the extent of the audibility of supra-20kHz signals. Don't forget a song of any length can be decomposed into a (rather large, complex) Fourier Series...
