Hi Timbo,I agree with you about the trackers (for Bach and the like anyway).
32' stops produce 16 Hz fundamentals, and 16' produce 32 Hz if I've got my maths right. I've never "heard" a 64' stop (8 Hz) to be honest and I couldn't agree more that they're not necessary (or even desirable) for Bach! I don't think 32' stops are desirable for Bach!! I was merely pointing out that if you want *real* bass down to the limits of human hearing, you'll be needing organ recordings made on organs with 32' stops, and a lot of the recordings on historical instruments (which I prefer) don't have that.
Of course, in my own system the bass problems start long before those kinds of depths. Nasty peaks around the 80Hz mark are my current issue...
