Five minute long sinewave sweep from 1Hz. to 100 Hz.

What did you expect, I'm a BassNut?

If my subwoofer has any audible peaks (up to 70Hz.) heard at my listening position then it's my fault for setting its parametric EQ wrong!
When dishes rattle in the kitchen, it's my wife's fault. A very slow sweep (actually 20 seconds from 20-100Hz. is okay too) will let you hear your room resonances and "house noises" which are stunning and very disappointing the first time you hear a slow sweep tone at your listening seat.

For music: The loudest deepest bass I know of to test subwoofer excursion limits is from the new White Stripes album -- the first song "Blue Orchid". Hold on to your hat when listening!
Not for weenie small speakers used without high-pass filters.

Note: The test CD with the 5-minute frequency sweep (which also really helps you locate house noises) is called the BassZone Test CD, and was from Stryke Audio, which was going to change their name or is no longer in business.

For the sweep I keep the volume low for the first 30 seconds as any subwoofer driver playing under 16Hz. could be damaged -- the first time I used this test track I thought it started at 10Hz. and did not turn the volume low -- that almost caused a heart attack as I watched my new $200 car subwoofer driver stroking about 1" in each direction. I have no idea why they started the sweep at 1Hz. (Maybe a sick joke?) because most sweeps start at 20Hz., so even 10Hz. would have been unusual.
