Agree- long time ago, early 80s or so, I bought a Carver Receiver, largely cause of it's review in Stereophile (I'm fairly certain),and it sounded ok in the store and for a few months. I got severe listener fatigue after that, though. Replaced a good old Marantz receiver with it, too, that I wished I had back. Good lesson, though, that I've abided by since then...
