As a current minimonitor owner (who, because of relocation, had to sell his floorstanders), one possible reason for their absence on the "disappointment" list is that the buyer knows what he/she is getting into and so is not disappointed.An intelligent blending of a subwoofer can certainly remedy the bass deficiency and, I think, help the dynamics.
